What you will do in your working day

  • To adopt Standard Operating Procedures and encourage it to be done by others
  • To assemble NHS prescriptions which includes Managed Dosage Systems
  • To help with the safe supply of medicines and advice over the counter
  • To ensure that all near misses are logged and reported as necessary, and to undertake any activity to prevent recurrence
  • To support the effective use of all stock control systems
  • To resolve customer complaints if possible
  • To help deliver all local and nationally commissioned services offered by the pharmacy
  • To greet and serve patients promptly, either dispensary (with supervision), over the counter or over the phone
  • To provide advice as required to patients
  • To promote and sell appropriate over the counter products and toiletries
  • To respond to all requests for information in a prompt manner
  • To assist the branch manager in the smooth operation of the pharmacy

- Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship

-Training at the college 1 day per week

Possible opportunity for a permanent position or progression onto a Level 3 apprenticeship.
