What you will do in your working day

You will be responsible for working within a team onsite. Tasks may involve, but are not limited to:

  • Installing first fix components (door frames, window boards, linings)
  • Installing second fix components (doors, skirting / architraves, kitchens, cladding)
  • Use of hand tools, portable power tools and equipment

The training you will be getting

  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry and joinery (Site Carpentry)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Your training will be 1 day a week at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, there might be an opportunity to complete the level 3 qualification or to be offered a full-time position. This will be reviewed by you and your employer at the end of your apprenticeship.

Things to consider

This line of work is highly demanding and physically hard work. You will be required to work in all weathers and keep up with demanding build programmes. There is a possibility of travelling to different sites. Holding a CSCS card is desirable
