What you will do in your working day

  • Complete a Level 3 Business and Admin apprenticeship through on site working and assignments. This will be through our apprentice training provider. 
  • Process licence applications for various activities on the public highway (e.g. street cafes, advertising boards, skips, events) and keep accurate records.
  • Provide general admin support to colleagues and be a point of contact for queries on the team’s work.

The training you will be getting

An apprenticeship in Business and Administration covers topics such as understanding how an organisation works, engaging with stakeholders, project management, analysing data and effective document and record production.

The Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship will take up to 24 months to complete, and you will study for the qualification with our apprentice provider, Ixion.

Whilst studying for your apprenticeship you will be supported by a workforce coach for the duration of the course.  You will attend online sessions and occasional sessions with oyur development coach in the workplace. 

We understand that that this may be your first job in an office and there will be people a variety of people who will be available to support you.  These will include your team manager, your colleagues and the workplace coach who will support your learning throughout your apprenticeship. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Once you have completed your qualification, we will work with you to try and secure a permanent role within the council. Further apprenticeship study may be available if relevent.

Things to consider

We welcome applications from anyone who does not hold a higher level qualification already in Business and Administration. You must have been residing in the UK for at least the last 3 years.
