What you will do in your working day

Daily duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures
  • Install and maintain lighting, security and fire alarm systems in Industrial & Commercial settings
  • Install cable containment systems  
  • Installation of commercial EV charging 
  • Test electrical components and systems for continuity
  • Diagnose and repair faulty electrical systems
  • Ensure that all safety regulations are adhered to
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment 

The training you will be getting

  • The successful candidate will receive a qualification at Level 3 for the Installation and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship
  • The apprentice will attend one day a week in college during term time
  • Further training schedule has yet to be agreed, details will be made available at a later date

Things to consider

A valid driving licence is essential for this position. There will also be occasional working outdoors, occasional working away, occasional working weekends and opportunity to earn overtime.
