The apprentice who would assist the Montessori guide (teacher) during the morning work cycle and take on a more leading role by preparing craft, music and outdoor activities for the children in the afternoons.

What you will do in your working day

  • To develop an understanding of Montessori education through reading and in-house training
  • To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times
  • To help ensure the nursery meet Ofsted requirements at all times
  • To understand and work to the nursery’s policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
  • To ensure that the provision of childcare meets the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development
  • To be able to communicate with parents effectively
  • To promote and work to health and safety standards and upkeep hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
  • To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager
  • To complete all aspects of the apprenticeship

The training you will be getting

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard
  • Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College in order to complete the programme
  • Functional Skills may also have to be completed

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

For the right candidate, there may be a full time paid position at the end of the apprenticeship.
