What you will do in your working day

The training you will be getting

As well as the Level 3 Metal Fabricator certificate, the apprentice will also achieve the following qualification:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development knowledge)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required

The apprentice will attend Qualitrain Engineering Academy (Alfreton, DE55 7DQ), once a week for their off-the-job training, this will go on for the duration of the apprenticeship, which is expected to last 42 months.

The apprentice will work at Goodman Metal Works in Colwick, for 4 days a week, where they will receive on-the-job training and mentorship by a skilled colleague.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may likely be offered a full-time position within the business, with the prospect of progression within the company to a Senior Fabricator role

Things to consider

Please also consider that the training provider is in Alfreton so you must be willing to commute there once a week.
