What you will do in your working day

Supporting the Business Support Team and Insurance Consultants, you will be learning a variety of tasks relating to organisation, data entry and communication. The job scope includes communicating via phone and e-mail and ensuring all administrative/sales support duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

You will learn:

  • Monitoring and responding to emails
  • Handling mid-term communications from clients and insurers.
  • Updating the software system.
  • Communicating with insurers and clients mainly by e-mail and occasionally by phone to complete processes.
  • Handling incoming calls
  • Processing policy documents
  • Processing incoming and outgoing post
  • Data entry
  • Maintaining office supplies
  • Collating and updating insurer information
  • Maintaining website information
  • Collating FAQ’s and create standard responses
  • Downloading and saving insurer renewal documents

Person Specification

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes They don’t require high level skills, but they need basic user knowledge
  • Basic PC and typing skills
  • Written communication skills, mainly responding to emails
  • Good verbal communication, dealing with incoming calls
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Able to work on your own, as well as part of a team, which is sometimes noisy!
  • Even though they are a relaxed friendly team, they expect their team members to work to high standards
  • They are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and they are dealing with people’s health, it means that you must understand the importance of what they do and the potential severity of errors
  • You must be prepared to learn general knowledge about health insurance products

The training you will be getting

During this advanced apprenticeship, you will learn a vast range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, covering topics such as project management, systems & processes, business structures and so much more. Delivery method and location of training to be confirmed.

You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships Business Administration Level 3 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships are an Ofsted Outstanding rated training provider and hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021.

The programme is designed to mould you into a high-level, all-rounded business professional. You will learn in detail about business communication, organisation, managing change, problem-solving & much more.
