What you will do in your working day

You will receive training and be required to: Carry out all tasks and jobs in our workshops. Working with machinery and people on a daily basis.

  • You will start at the bottom, as long as you show willing and eagerness you will progress quickly in the company and learn all aspects of fabrication and engineering. 
  • You will work with a tradesman and learn from them on a day to day basis. 
  • You will be operating our machinery, cutting,welding, bending, drilling etc.. you will also carry out training for working at height and confined space if needed. 

The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard

L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

The Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with 1 day a week college attendance for the three years.

Most of your training will be done at Armultra premises in Great Yarmouth. On occasions you will go on sites but will be limited.

You will also carry out job specific training i.e. Confined space / WAH / Fire awareness etc.

 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

You could get the chance to work in our workshops all over the country and if it is of interest, once completed your apprenticeship you can go offshore. 

This Apprenticeship could also open up the opportunity to progress onto Level 4 Operative.

Things to consider

The role is a manual job so it includes a lot of heavy lifting and working in hot and cold environments. The work may require you working at height or in confined spaces . We are looking for someone who has 6 months to 1 year experience in Fabrication and Engineering.
