What you will do in your working day

·        Plan and teach well-structured lessons

·        Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired

·        Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils

·        Demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils

·        To promote good progress and outcomes for pupils in line with the school’s targets

·        Be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes

·        Plan teaching to build on pupils’ capabilities and prior knowledge

·        Guide pupils to reflect on the progress they have made and their emerging needs


The training you will be getting

Teacher Apprenticeship.

Apprentices will undertake the level 6 teacher apprenticeship programme delivered by Staffordshire University.


Teaching will be a mix of on the job and off the job training delivered face to face in university and online sessions each week. The programme is delivered using a blended learning model.


Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices will achieve their level 6 teacher apprenticeship and gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
