Apprentice will be responsible for programming and operating both CNC lathes and CNC vertical machining centres, using a multiple of onsite practices, including Haas, Siemens and Fanuc controls. They will cover a wide range of parts from components for JCB to the prestigious HS2 project.

What you will do in your working day

Day to day duties will involve:

  • Programming of machines
  • Set up machines
  • Operating machines
  • Quality check of parts and documentation
  • Understanding and adhering to Health and Safety procedures
  • Tooling set up / changes
  • Jig manufacture
  • Understanding of technical drawings, symbols and tolerances

The training you will be getting

This is a level 3 Machinist apprenticeship which will delivered over a 4 year period. The apprentice will be required to attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2.5 days per week for the first two years as part of the training.
