What you will do in your working day

  • Provide activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Help prepare the children’s records in your group.
  • Support all staff and engage in good staff team.
  • To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the Health & Safety Standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
  • The preparation and completion of activities to suite the child’s stage of development.
  • Washing and changing children as required.
  • To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.

The training you will be getting


  • L3 Apprenticeships Standard in Early Years Educator
  • L3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce
  • L2 Functional Skills English and maths (if required)
  • L3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.

Delivery Method

  • A mixture of blended learning in the work place and  taught delivery every other Friday at Loughborough College.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Potential to be kept on as a full time staff member
  • Progression to a level 4 qulification.
