What you will do in your working day

  • Based at Nechells regeneration project, Aston Church Road.
  • Enhance your early years career with this fantastic opportunity working in a day nursery environment and caring for children. You will be supporting their learning and development through play and activities. A great role with lots of opportunities for development and a full time position available once apprenticeship is completed.
  • Communicate well and be a good role model.
  • Work as part of a team and Inspire outstanding practice.
  • Act professionally in all situations.
  • Have knowledge of the EYFS and Safeguarding requirements.
  • Work to a high standard ensuring all children and families are well cared for.
  • Keep records of their key children's assessments and observations and ensuring all other paperwork within the room is kept up to date (sleep & nappy charts, accident forms, risk assessments)
  • The candidate will complete a days trial within the room to show off their skills which must include the ability to engage with children and staff in a caring and kind manner, also to show how fun and exciting they can be.
  • Training will be given.
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.00pm (please note that these hours are subject to change based on our operational demands).

The training you will be getting

  • You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare
  • Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning.
  • You will gain an Early years Level 3 qualification with a view to continuing onto further levels of apprenticeships and training.
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

Things to consider

This is a busy environment and you will be dancing, singing, playing, reading and generally having fun. You will be tired at the end of your shift but happy in the knowledge you created a fun and safe environment for the children to flourish.

About the employer

Khadra & Isra Daycare was established in 2013 and operates from the superbly renovated garrison theatre building that was constructed in 1890 and renovated to the highest standard in 2012. While it provides an excellent nursery environment it has also retained the classic features of the original building and is therefore unique.
