What you will do in your working day

You will work within our manufacturing operations team as a manufacturing apprentice.

  • Learning all areas of manufacture including the test of printed circuit boards and system assemblies.
  • Prepare, control, contribute to manufacturing operations.
  • Follow processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The training you will be getting

  • Lean Manufacturing Level 2 Standard qualification.
  • One day a week will be spent at Derby College. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Further Education or a Job in Manufacturing (SMS cannot guarantee jobs to apprentices).
  • Progression to a level 3 qualification.
