A Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice is required. This apprenticeship opportunity is being offered by Dalkia Facilities at our University of Lincoln site. We're looking for an apprentice who likes being organised, enjoys multi-tasking and working with, and helping others. You'll be fully supported by our management and HR team throughout your apprenticeship. Duties include: using our specialised software to log requests and to use them as a reporting and planning tool for our various facilities projects.

What you will do in your working day

Day to day tasks (under supervision) include:

  • Using our specialised software to log requests and to use them as a reporting and planning tool for our various facilities projects
  • Organising work schedules for our staff and contractors
  • Interacting with our property owners, contractors, occupants and other agencies
  • Responding to and coordinating maintenance requests or equipment malfunctions in a timely, efficient and friendly manner
  • Responding to any request for emergencies works and having a problem-solving approach to resolve.

The training you will be getting

  • As well as guided on the job training specific to our organisation you will study towards your Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship programme delivered by Heart of England Training. 
  • A tutor will be assigned to you and you will receive protected study time within the workplace
  • You will also get support from our apprenticeship team through mentoring and buddying
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

We run multiple online and face to face training sessions covering topics such as customer service. We also run wellbeing programmes throughout the year and each apprentice can take a paid day’s leave to do something in their community or for charity. We also host 2 x face to face events per year, solely for our apprentices. We encourage apprentices to explore our various contracts within Dalkia and managers are given the autonomy to release their apprentice onto other contracts from time to time. This is stimulating for the apprentices as it gives them the exposure to different customers, environments, and tasks.
