What you will do in your working day

Being an apprentice at Ian Williams, gives you the opportunity to be “hands-on” and learn on the job, you will combine a combination of college and practical learning to study your chosen trade. You will get the opportunity to put your new skills into practice, while supported by the expert guidance of our experienced tradespeople - your own mentor.   

The specific type of work will vary contract to contract, the types of tasks we cover include:

  • Measuring and prepping
  • 1st fix
  • 2nd fix
  • Repair and maintenance
  • Although our work is predominantly domestic, you may also work on commercial sites depending on your unit’s contracts

The training you will be getting

You will work in our specialist Ian Williams Carpentry Academy to gain a L2 Standard in Site Carpentry through a combination of on line and on site bespoke training delivered by The Growth Company and by our qualified expert staff. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following successfull completion of the apprneticeship you will be offered a role with us as a fully qualified operative.
