What you will do in your working day

Responsibilities include:

  • Uphold & maintain company image
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Ensure company tools are maintained & in good working-order

  • Complete role-associated admin
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Adhere to H&S legislation
  • Installation and servicing of a variety of systems

The training you will be getting

Training includes: 

  • Level 3 Fire emergency & security systems technician
    Critical Health & Safety knowledge for the achievement of the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card (CSCS affiliated
  • Regular assessment to ensure deep & thorough understanding, with a clear demonstration of competence before attempting the end-point assessment

This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician standard. On completion the apprentice will receive Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician Level 3 qualification.   

You will attend Yeovil College on a block-week basis:

Year 1- 10 weeks
Year 2- 6 weeks
Year 3- 4 weeks

There may be an opportunity for the right candidates to remain in full-time employment and increase their levels of responsibilities upon successful completion of their apprenticeship.

Things to consider

A full driving licence is a requirement for this post as the majority of work will be in Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey. Ideal locations for candidates: Bournemouth / Poole, Southampton / Eastleigh, Portsmouth / Fareham, Winchester, Salisbury, Basingstoke (Or an area in between). The start date given is when you would start your apprenticeship, however commencement of employment may be prior to this. You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. In some cases, you may be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to your application being passed on. If a suitable candidate is found prior to the advertised closing date, it may close earlier so please apply early to avoid disappointment.
