What you will do in your working day

  • Invoicing, credit control.
  • Aged debtors analysis.
  • Dealing with queries, KPI reporting and reconciling to the General Ledger.
  • Purchase Ledger: inputting invoices, dealing with queries, KPI reporting, reconciling to the General Ledger.
  • Cashbook: updating and reconciling to the bank statements, incoming cash allocation formal bank reconciliations.
  • VAT: aid in the preparation of the VAT Return and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Financial Accounting: preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with auditors.

General Finance:

  • Preparation of ad-hoc information and reports for internal use and for external bodies.
  • Setting up and updating spreadsheets using Excel to maintain and monitor information.
  • Filing and archiving.

The training you will be getting

Qualification:

  • Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Accounts or Finance Assistant
  • Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting

Delivery Method:

  • Day release at Loughborough College
  • Trainer/Assessor visits in the workplace

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Progression to general Finance Assistant and longer-term development into other areas of finance such as financial planning & analysis, technical or controllership roles.
