What you will do in your working day

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a friendly and supportive working environment. They will work with a variety of children from different backgrounds with differing needs. They will support the class teacher and the children within the classroom setting as well as delivering intervention support for small groups or individuals based on needs.

Time for study will also be allocated within the work hours and support will be given from a mentor within the school.

You will be:

  • Supporting the class teacher to plan, prepare and deliver lessons
  • Preparing resources to support children’s learning
  • Supporting the class teacher with the learning environment to ensure that it supports learning
  • Delivering interventions to groups or individual children
  • Support Health & safety and fulfil safeguarding responsibilities to all children
  • Supporting breakfast club by engaging with children and providing care when needed
  • Supporting children at lunchtime if needed

The training you will be getting

You will be working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. 

You may also need to work towards Level 2 functional skills in English and maths if not achieved at GCSE Level. 

All training will be delivered remotely through teams during your working hours.
