What you will do in your working day

  • To provide an efficient audio, copy typing for GPs, Practice Manager and Health Professionals as required. This included the typing of letter, reports, patient referrals, minutes etc. in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Organise referrals for the health professionals, either electronically through the e-referral tool or manually.
  • To liaise with hospitals and other agencies on behalf of patients and GPs in regard to appointments and admissions.
  • To provide cover for members of the administration and reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave. 

The training you will be getting

  • Business Admin level 3 Apprenticeship Standard Training in the workplace provided by PMA Ltd. Includes Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
  • All training with be provided in-house for the EMIS Clinical System, Document Management System and E-Referrals.
  • In-house Receptionist training.
  • All mandatory training will be provided via our online training system (Blue Stream Academy) 
  • You will achieve a Level 3 Business Administration qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

About the employer

The Crown Surgery is a rural dispensing PMS Practice with 3 supportive GP Partners, located within the heart of Eccleshall. We have a team of c. 25 staff including GPs, First Contact Physiotherapists, Urgent Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Practitioners, Healthcare Assistant, Dispensers, Reception and admin team. The Practice is part of the Stone & Eccleshall PCN Network and has excellent links with the local hospitals, community pharmacies and residential home. This model of care enables us as Practices to be more proactive in creating more integrated health and social care for our patients. We want to encourage wellbeing through healthy communities and aim to work closely with local organisations.
