What you will do in your working day

To support the Financial Planning advisers in the Practice with providing back office support where required, whilst working with the administration team. To learn all aspects of the administration work involved in a busy financial services practice.

Duties to include:

  • Provide administrative support to the practice
  • Deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties through effective communication via phone, email and face to face as required
  • Responsible for the preparation of meeting documentation and follow up client meeting notes
  • Arranging meetings between new and prospective clients for and on behalf of the advisers
  • Following set guidelines and regulatory framework to ensure compliant operating procedures are adhered to
  • Providing technical and administrative support to the advisers
  • Will be a point of contact for clients and third parties dealing with general enquiries, as well as meeting and greeting at the office
  • Be responsible for business submission using bespoke software
  • Will need to ensure that business obtained is processed in a timely manner
  • Day-to-day use and management of the Practice’s CRM database
  • Will need to keep the back office system updated maintaining live files and case notes

Level 3 Financial Services Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:

The Financial Services Administrator apprenticeship is ideal for learners beginning an entry level role in the financial sector.

As an entry level role, this apprenticeship provides the foundation knowledge, skills and experience for progression along a number of career paths. The qualified apprentice will be prepared for advancement to positions including senior administrator, mortgage adviser and financial adviser roles.

CeMAP (UKFR) module 1 – awarded by The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF)


CF1 - awarded by The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

Completion of CeMAP1 or CF1 will provide a solid foundation for the learner and can lead on to progression to study in other areas.

To help prepare the apprentice for the professional qualification, Apprentices are provided with Simply Academy’s qualification resource package, alongside a structured study plan supported by a series of live revision sessions with our qualified tutors.

The apprentice is assigned a dedicated experienced mentor to guide them through the programme. Regular scheduled interactions with the apprentice ensure they are developing the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours required to become competent in the role.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Training will continue on the job and the progression would be to a client services administrator to a senior client services role to potentially paraplanning or an advisory role in the future.
