What you will do in your working day

  • Come into the workshop in the morning have a pre job brief and this could involve loading gear into the vans and prep for onsite work or working in the workshop.
  • Learning and developing crucial skills in how to read technical drawings and learning when changes to drawings are needed.
  • Understanding and learning the technical skills to be able to repair vessels that are currently being worked on as this is primarily ship repair work which can be fast paced at times but it’s an exciting opportunity to learn key engineering skills for the future applicants engineering career.

  • Maintaining the safety, integrity and effective operation of plant and equipment in industries that are part of the national infrastructure engineering sector, such as, electricity generating, oil and gas refining and pharmaceuticals.
