You will be trained to be competent in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of a diverse range of industrial equipment including CNC saws, automatic handling systems, laser cutting machines, gantry cranes and much more.

What you will do in your working day

Daily preventative maintenance, servicing and parts replacement including:

  • Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding and repairs
  • Programming of automated systems
  • Machine moving and installation
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Crane operations, safety and awareness
  • Communication

The training you will be getting

  • This Apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician
  • You will attend York College on a day release basis
  • The qualifications achieved upon completion of the apprenticeship are Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Level 3, plus Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma Level 3

Things to consider

You must be able to make your own travel arrangements to National Tube Stockholders on Dalton Industrial Estate near Thirsk and to York College in order to complete your apprenticeship training.
