What you will do in your working day

The role will offer experience, training and coaching within our lean manufacturing operation including:

  • Safety awareness
  • Stock process and management
  • Assembly Techniques
  • Machine operation
  • Soldering
  • Hand assembly
  • Using build sheets and work instructions
  • Working in a Clean Room environment
  • Test & Inspection
  • Use of automated test equipment
  • Inspection and quality control
  • Taking and recording accurate measurements using various technical equipment
  • Mentoring and support by one of our most experienced 5 Star team members to ensure learning & career progression.
  • Getting involved with our Continuous Improvement program to identify, develop and implement ideas and investments.

The aim is to provide the relevant experiential learning opportunities in a world class manufacturing facility in addition to funding the college technical learning to develop the individual to pass their qualification and progress into a full-time position within our business.

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required) This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

There is an opportunity of a full-time post upon completing the apprenticeship, and further opportunities to progress within the company and wider group. Alternatively, further apprenticeships are available.
