What you will do in your working day

As a Plastering apprentice you will learn how to:

  • Work safely within occupational health, safety and environmental controls
  • Use tools and equipment to install plasterboard
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment for internal surfaces and produce solid plastering finishes including two coat and skimming on plasterboard 
  • Finish drylining joints using jointing and taping

The training you will be getting

You will work with the employer Monday to Thursday and attend Resources NE Ltd on a Friday for day release training.

You will receive the Level 2 Plastering apprenticeship standard qualification when you pass your end point assessment.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

With experience, you could move to a supervisory job, or into related areas like tiling, dry lining, estimating and site management.

You could also become self-employed and work as a sub-contractor.
