What you will do in your working day

1.       Learn to carry out a range of plumbing works in occupied and empty properties to current legislative standards, to prevailing performance standards and in accordance with the Trust’s procedures.

2.       Learn to carry out inspections of occupied and empty properties to determine the extent of the repair, maintenance or installation required. Having identified the works required, carry out the most cost effective and expedient works.

3.       Learn to carry out tasks such as but not restricted to, minor carpentry, tiling, and redecoration repairs linked to maintenance.

4.       Learn to carry out administrative work, using the hand held IT device to accurately record whilst on-site all processes from receiving jobs through to completion, using the appropriate schedule of rate code(s) and detailed records of materials used and work competed.

The training you will be getting

At the end of this apprenticeship, you will achieve a level 3 qualification in plumbing, as well as valuable experience of how to complete a wide variety of plumbing works alongside other useful information. Before the end point assessment, you will earn;

  • Functional Skills level 2 in maths and English
  • Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Qualification

You will complete your apprenticeship on a day release basis, where you will work with our knowledgeable colleagues at Raven House and on site 4 days a week and you will attend college 1 day a week. We own and manage over 7000 homes and properties, and are committed to investing in homes and neighbours to develop local communities where people want to live. We believe that having a good quality, affordable home makes a big difference to people’s lives and that ‘adding value’ is an important part of our work.

Most of our homes are in the Surrey and Sussex areas and you will attend a selection of different properties, both occupied and empty, during your apprenticeship to give you a well-rounded experience.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will be eligible for a number of positions within Raven's repair's teams. Development is at the heart of our culture, and we want to nurture and support your career progression within Raven. This includes attending training courses, cross-functional learning and knowledge, and progression up to a Head of Service role and beyond.
