What you will do in your working day

We would be looking to start employment for a short probationary period prior to commencement of the formal apprenticeship enrolment.  This would provide the candidate with a “taster” of the type of work and environment.

Throughout the apprenticeship, we would provide practical training, running in parallel with the AAT syllabus, and covering all aspects of operating an accountancy service to clients including;

  • Marketing
  • Administration
  • Database maintenance
  • PAYE payroll
  • Commercial software training
  • Company formation and administration
  • Providing book-keeping support to clients
  • Preparation of self-assessment returns

The ability to communicate well by telephone and email will be an essential part of the skill-set we will be looking to develop in an apprentice.

The training you will be getting

The apprentice will be learning on the job 4 days per week with one day per week at the Havant Campus of Havant and South Downs College studying the Level 2 AAT Accounts or Finance Assistant Qualification.

After successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice would gain a Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant qualification.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

There is the opportunity to progress within the company onto the Level 3 AAT followed by the Level 4 AAT, leading to full qualification as a full member of the AAT, a widely recognised accountancy qualification.
