What you will do in your working day

Duties will include but not limited to: -

  • Issuing lanyards and warmly welcoming visitors to the school.
  • Providing general clerical support as required by school staff.
  • Efficiently managing incoming and outgoing telephone communications, including transferring calls and taking messages.
  • Booking appointments into the diary and confirming attendees for weekly meetings.
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are prepared, including arranging refreshments as necessary.
  • Typing letters, emails, and other correspondence accurately and promptly.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as filing, shredding, photocopying, and distributing deliveries.
  • Liaising with learners and helping as needed.
  • Assisting the HR team with general administration tasks.
  • To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development, and training opportunities in discussion with line manager

About the employer

Glenwood School is a Community Special School maintained by the Local a Authority. It caters for up to 220 learners between 3 and 19 years of age. It is a co-educational school for learners with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Approximately 60% have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder and approximately 30% have significant physical and/or sensory impairments.
