What you will do in your working day

  • Begin the day with a tea/coffee and a brief into the day ahead, discussing what prep needs to be done & any specials for the day/week
  • Commence with prep required for the day
  • Be involved fully in lunch service between 11.30am - 2.00pm
  • Afternoon break to wind down and relax between services
  • Return to kitchen at 5.00pm to commence dinner service between 5.30pm - 9.00pm.
  • Cleaning of all kitchen (as a team)

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release 
  • The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • We are looking at offering a full-time position for the right candidate on completion of apprenticeship
  • We also have good links with numerous restaurants in Birmingham and London should the apprentice wish to look further afield, and would gladly assist in helping achieve their goals
