What you will do in your working day
The apprentice will have a split role: 1. Production based in our Battersea workshop, working with our production manager and production assistant on a wide variety of signage and graphics. You will learn many techniques as well as how to use all of our machines 2. Supporting and learning from our installation manager on-site. This will mainly involve vinyl and graphics but also some hard signage such as aluminium sign trays and illuminated signage. The apprentice shall be shown all aspects of signage that we carry out at Yellow Signs. Specifically, the apprentice will learn how to deal with artwork setup print jobs, Work with vinyl weed vinyl Apply vinyl This includes shop and retails graphics as well as vehicles. They will also learn how to use the laser cutter and router as well as supporting the production team with hard signage assembly.
The training you will be getting
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a L3 Signage Technician Apprenticeship Standard. The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both your employer and BPIF Training. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs. Functional Skills in maths and English, if required. Most training and studying will be site-based.
