Summary

R & J Yorkshire's Finest Farmers and Butchers offers an amazing opportunity for a keen Apprentice to learn from highly skilled Master Butchers of the trade. We supply households through to Michelin Star Restaurants throughout the country. Starting salary of £10/ hour with great opportunities to learn and progress within our fantastic team.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

On commencing an Apprenticeship with R & J Yorkshire's Finest Farmers and Butchers you will be working to gain a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Butchery, as well as Functional Skills in English and maths if required. All of the training is carried out at our Butchery in Kirkby Malzeard, North Yorkshire. Given our location you must have your own transport to our location.

We are a family run business, 5th generation farmers and now nearly 50 years in the Butchery Industry. We supply a range of customers from households to local pubs and Michelin Star Restaurants too.

The Training Plan established by MEAT Ipswich is monitored closely with a mix of online and handwritten sections with regular support calls and visits every 8 - 10 weeks.

We only operate Monday to Friday.

After this apprenticeship

There are many opportunities for progression within our team following completion of Level 2 Butchery. This would include progression to Level 3 Butchery Apprenticheship if this was a path that the individual wanted to take. 

There are many roles and responsibilities available within our butchery team in our growing business whether it is breaking down carcasses, portioning, manufacturing, Goods In etc.
