What you will do in your working day

  • To attend all apprenticeship training and successfully complete End Point Assessment 
  • Provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules. 
  • Liaise with service users and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. 
  • Support the team to complete work within the time, quality and specified service standards. 
  • Ensure that work is performed in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with the relevant risk assessment. 
  • Ensure that machinery, equipment and tools that are used are operated in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and any faults are reported 
  • Work collaboratively with team colleagues to ensure that work plans are achieved, and quality standards are maintained. 
  • Complete all aspects of training relating to the apprenticeship standard 

The training you will be getting

You will receive a Level 2 apprenticeship in Horticulture or landscape construction operative.

All training will be delivered face to face, with a 1-day release per week. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, the vision is that you move into a permanent role within the department or wider Council.
