What you will do in your working day

Duties include:

  • Following appropriate policies, procedures and systems ensuring the educational, social, physical, emotional, health and welfare needs of the children are always met
  • To become involved in children’s activities so as to stimulate and extend their learning
  • To demonstrate sensitivity toward children and families within the facility
  • Providing an environment that is safe, stimulating and challenging, ensuring compliance with ‘The Children Act 2004’ and the ‘Childcare Act 2006’
  • Assisting in the admission and induction of new children
  • Assisting in the maintenance of all necessary records to meet internal, E.Y.D.C.P and Ofsted requirements
  • To take an active role in the promotion of excellent health and safety practices
  • To respond effectively to any health and safety issues that may arise, and report any necessary matters
  • To participate in training and meetings as requested by the Management Team
  • Performing any other duties commensurate with the general nature of the position requested by the Management Team

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Own in-house training

About the employer

About Us We are a full day care nursery that caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Offering 2,3 and 4 year old funded places on a flexible basis. We are open 51 weeks of the year (closing at Christmas for 1 week). We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, stretching the children’s learning over the seven areas of development and learning. All activities are based around these areas in a way that will engage children to learn through play. We are open 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday (closing on Bank holidays).
