What you will do in your working day

To set and operate production machinery which includes Lathes (CNC and manual), milling machinery, drills and hand tools. To manufacture components as detailed on a works order and technical drawing. 
 
Have the ability to use a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line.  

The training you will be getting

  • Machining Technican L3 at college with comprehensive work based learning  
  • Day release at Northampton College - Booth Lane up to 42 months studying Machining Technican L3

Design and manufacture of hose reels, road and tanker fittings and cable drums. The manufacture of pressure and vacuum relief valves. Procurement stockholding and maintenance of emergency fire and rescue equipment.
