What you will do in your working day

Our community-based Pharmacy in Retford is hoping to recruit a determined individual as an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant.

Duties include:

  • Dispensing medications under supervision.
  • General admin.
  • Serving patients over the counter.
  • Using the shop till.
  • Dealing with over the counter and telephone queries.
  • Using the pharmacy computer system.
  • Dealing with stock deliveries.
  • Stock management.
  • Ensuring pharmacy shop shelves are replenished.
  • Date checking of stock.
  • Processing NHS prescriptions.
  • General shop cleaning and maintenance.

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant apprenticeship.
  • General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Functional Skills maths and English Level 1 and/or Level 2, as appropriate.
  • Training will take place at the workplace - no need to travel to a college.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Working as a permanent member of the pharmacy team. Opportunity to complete Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant qualifications and for the right candidate an opportunity to work towards Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.
