What you will do in your working day

Our community-based Pharmacy in Whitefield Manchester is hoping to recruit a determined individual as an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant.

Duties include:

  • Dispensing medications under supervision
  • General admin
  • Serving patients over the counter
  • Using the shop till
  • Dealing with over-the-counter and telephone queries
  • Using the pharmacy computer system
  • Dealing with stock deliveries
  • Stock management
  • Ensuring pharmacy shop shelves are replenished
  • Date checking of stock
  • Processing NHS prescriptions
  • General shop cleaning and maintenance







The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant apprenticeship
  • General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Functional Skills maths and English Level 1 and/or Level 2, as appropriate
  • Training will take place at the workplace - no need to travel to a college

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Working as a permanent member of the pharmacy team. Opportunity to complete Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant qualifications and for the right candidate an opportunity to work towards Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.
