    Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am - 5pm. Due to the nature of the role the post holder will need to be flexible in relation to working hours as some site visits will be required.

What you will do in your working day

  • Provide administrative support to the SHEQ Manager in relation to all H&S documentation, including the creation and maintenance of project H&S folders
  • Maintenance of the training matrix and booking courses
  • Undertaking and keeping records of toolbox talks
  •  Assist in organising any medical-related assessments for employees (for example, lung, hearing and skin assessments)
  • Assist with keeping company accreditations updated (e.g. ISO, construction line, sustainability school)
  • Assist in carrying out risk assessments and method statements
  • Carry out on-site inspections in relation to SHEQ related matters
  • Investigating accidents, near misses and workplace hazards

The training you will be getting

  • Safety, health and environment technician level 3
  • 20% of your time will be spent undertaking off-the-job learning. This includes online lessons with the apprenticeship provider, undertaking guided learning and preparing a range of assignments.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

The successful candidate may wish to pursue a career in the Health and Safety area of expertise, or may wish to consider other career opportunities within the construction industry, including but not limited to Design, Site Management, Project Management and Estimating.

Things to consider

This is a hands-on role which will require occasional travel to construction sites within London and East Anglia. Working will at times be outside or in uncomfortable conditions.
