What you will do in your working day

Typical day to day duties will include:

  • Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams (240V, 24V, 12V)
  • Soldering, crimping, looms routing
  • Manufacturing looms and sub-assemblies
  • Fitting electrical components (beacons, alarms, jack plugs, heaters, batteries, invertors etc)
  • Fault finding
  • Electrical testing

The training you will be getting

  • This is a level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship qualification (Electrical) delivered over a period of 12 months.
  • The apprentice will be required to attend a one week induction at the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Telford TF3 3AJ as part of the training followed by weekly day release.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Initially, we expect apprentices to be employed as a electrical fitter and, for the right candidate, they will have the opportunity for further study and progression within the team
  • For suitable and successful candidates, the roles will be varied and the company is committed to investing in training and mentoring with the aim of, on completion of the apprentice scheme, being employed in permanent positions.
