We have a very friendly King Charles spaniel, so love of animals is a must. Must be 18 years or older (due to Ofsted ratio rules).

What you will do in your working day

Duties will include:

  • Meet and greet children.
  • Breakfast supervision - serving/clearing.
  • Setting up activities for the day.
  • School runs - Pick up and drop off.
  • Supervise children - groups and individuals.
  • Toileting and nappy changes.
  • After school club duties.

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner.

Apprentices who have not achieved the equivalent of level 2 qualifications in maths and English, will need to achieve level 1 functional skills in these and work towards level 2 functional skills.

Apprentices will be allocated a Trainor Assessor and training will be planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet the individual needs of the apprentice.

The apprentice will spend 20% of their working hours in off the job activites and training.

On the job and off the job training will be delivered in the workplace.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Progression onto the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship. A permanent role at Donna's Daycare.

About the employer

At Donna's Daycare we aim to provide the appropriate environment to enable those in my care to become confident children who can think creatively and critically and making effective relationships with others and who have a love of life. We are a small, friendly home-based childcare setting. Working primarily on 1:3 ration for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) We look after children from 9 months to 11 years.
