What you will do in your working day

  • Carry out remedial works after MOT failures - this will usually consist of brakes, suspension work, tyre replacement.
  • General light routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
  • There is a constant stream of work in our busy testing station and therefore plenty of scope for a willing candidate to learn and progress to a top level technician. 

The training you will be getting

  • You will be completing the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) apprenticeship qualification which will require you to spend one day per week at Newcastle College.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Candidate will have amassed a wealth of knowledge and as stated possibly be a qualified MOT tester.
