What you will do in your working day

Working with the Infrastructure and Security Manager you will provide first line technical support for the Group’s hardware and software updating the Group’s helpdesk software accordingly.

You will learn Windows Server administration techniques and advanced troubleshooting with the aim of ultimately handling additional second line support tasks to reduce the helpdesk load for the Infrastructure and Security Manager.


  • First line support for group hardware and software
  • Maintaining the Helpdesk (ticket updates and resolutions)
  • Basic user administration subject to training


  • Good general education – GCSE in English and Maths, level 4 or above or equivalent.
  • At least a basic understanding of Windows Server Environments, Windows desktop operating systems, M365.
  • Good standard of written and oral communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Desire to learn and develop a career within the IT industry.


  • Any basic understanding of business class requirements, networking, telephony, virtualisation.

  • Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification
  • 12-15 month course
  • Remote based training
