What you will do in your working day

Day to day duties include:

  • Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors.
  • Continually developed culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals.
  • Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces and seasonings.
  • Washes, chops and cuts fruit, meal, and vegetable items.
  • Assess inventory and requests resupply when necessary.
  • Disposes of spoiled items and adheres to sanitation policies.

The training you will be getting

  • Commis chef Level 2 (GCSE) Standard
    (Typical duration: 12 months)
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required
  • Support from the Performance Coach
  • Delivery method and location of training to be confirmed

We are committed to helping our successful candidate with their career planning. We would certainly be interested in offering a full-time role at The Plough following the completion of the apprenticeship. But we’re also happy with whatever path the apprentice chooses.
