What you will do in your working day

Role and responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring high product quality of precision manufactured components
  • Duties will range from 30 off-line CMM programming, CNC, CMM operation and programming, SPC analysis, as well as conventional measuring techniques
  • The candidate will be quick to learn modern measuring techniques and demonstrate a positive customer focused attitude

The training you will be getting

You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Technician standard on a Technical Support Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3.

During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis

After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
