What you will do in your working day

A versatile and capable Business and Marketing Administrator is required to assist the smooth and efficient running of our company. You will be responsible for producing product catalogues, together with helping to develop and maintain interactive websites, e-commerce sites and database systems. You will also work as part of a team to process documents, liaise with customers and support sales. Your ability to multitask will mean you can meticulously manage travel and events arrangements, whist also creating strategic social media posts and analysing their effectiveness.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, knowledge of social media platforms, excellent time management skills and a high level of integrity and professionalism. You should be adaptive, proactive, supportive and detail-oriented. You need to thrive in a busy office environment and be able to work under pressure. A genuine desire to meet the needs of others together with a “can do” attitude would be advantageous.

The main duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

  • Acting as a personal assistant to the directors as and when necessary
  • Assisting with purchase orders, custom orders and updating and preparing price lists for printing
  • Assisting with the preparation of hard-copy catalogues for printing, as well as uploading online catalogues
  • Maintaining company websites and database systems
  • Assisting with advertising, marketing and promotions through mail chimp, text and social media platforms
  • Taking and processing customer orders, answering incoming calls, texts and emails and assisting with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Dealing with customer enquiries, including catalogue and price list requests

About the employer

Ki Martial Arts Ltd is a small, independent family-owned business, established in 1989. The company has been in their current location since 2006 and have regularly supported apprenticeship recruitment and development as the business has grown. The company supplies martial arts clothing and equipment to martial arts schools and associations, shops and gyms; and hires out electronic scoring systems for tournaments, all from our warehouse and offices based in central Plymouth. There is also a sister company, based in France, which was set up in 2022 to continue to supply the European market post Brexit.
