What you will do in your working day

You will be involved in the duties listed below, working as part of the classroom team:

  • Help to provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment in which successful learning an take place
  • Work supporting teachers in all aspects of school life. This would include some aspects of contributing to planning sessions with teachers and teaching assistants
  • Assisting in day-to-day routine of the classroom
  • Providing feedback to teachers on children’s attainments and interests
  • Supporting students wellbeing
  • Assisting the class teacher in classroom preparation and the presentation of school displays
  • Providing supervision for students at breaktimes and lunchtimes
  • Accompanying children on school educational visits and any off-site activities
  • Maintain personal and professional standards in line with the expectations of the job

The training you will be getting

  • On completion of the course you will achieve a Level 3 Standard Apprenticeship in Teaching Assitant awarded by City and Guilds Governing Body
  • Majority of the training will take place in the work place (King Charles 1 School with a one day release to Heart of Worcestershire College at the Worcester Campus

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Higher Level Teaching Assitant (HTEL)
  • Degree in Education -  Qualified Teacher Status

Things to consider

This role will involve undertaking regulated activity and therefore this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and an enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate.
