What you will do in your working day

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a small friendly company to further their career in IT and gain a better understanding of supporting IT in businesses.

Duties will include:

  • This role will be predominantly office based, remotely talking and supporting end users’ computers. It is essential for successful candidates to have a good telephone manor and to enjoy working with computers
  • From time to time, there may be a requirement to assist with installations and cabling and visits to client sites
  • This role in the business will be to assist working on server & desktop issues reported by our clients
  • You will be making telephone calls, sending emails and troubleshooting general end user problems
  • The role will be quite varied, working with clients from multiple business sectors, with various operating systems and ages of computers

The training you will be getting

Firebrand’s sector-leading Level 3 Information Communication Technician (L3ICT) Apprenticeship Programme trains apprentices to deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and Telecommunications infrastructure and to deliver and support the information systems needs of an organisation.

Options include pathways for Support Technician, Network Technician and Digital Communications Technician.

Firebrands course is delivered either Online (online live instructor led), or face to face in the classroom environment (your choice). Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Learning Mentors (LMs) and world-leading trainers prepare apprentices to work across multiple sectors.

Completion of this apprenticeship will provide learners with the following world class vendor certifications in addition to the Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship:

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals+
  • Certiport IT Specialist Networking
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

Key areas covered are: 

Support Technician:

  • Maintenance or repair of systems faults
  • Support for the roll-out of installation and commission of new systems or upgrades

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance

GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSE's including English and Maths (Grade (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent)) Essential

Things to consider

Experience in managing Office365 infrastructure and knowledge of Azure AD will be ideal. Eligible to work in the UK.
