    We offer a full salary, even for apprentices, along with 4 weeks paid holiday, investment in their training and development, a wonderful and highly qualified team to work with.

What you will do in your working day

The role involves you supporting our Crew in all aspects of supporting the childen’s learning and development, whilst providing you an opportunity to gain invaluable hands on experience in what it takes to become an Outstanding Nursery Practitioner.

If you are completing your Level 2 or 3 qualification, have experience in a nursery setting, and are committed to completing your qualifications, then we would love to hear from you.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that the EYFS curriculum is implemented, through imaginative, creative and child-led initiatives.
  • Supporting all aspects of the children’s daily routines including their self-care and mealtimes
  • Working in partnership with parents by providing effective feedback on their child’s learning and holding one to one meetings.
  • Supporting the Crew and contributing positively to the culture and reputation of The Little Tug Boat.
  • Adhering to Nursery policies and procedures which includes the Safeguarding and Health and Safety of all children.

The training you will be getting

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. 

You may also need to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English. 

Paediatric first aid qualification.

Off the job training is to be provided during working hours.

The candidate should: • Have a passion for working with children and developing their learning through play. • Show commitment to understanding the EYFS, child development and Ofsted regulations. • Show a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children as well as high standards in confidentiality. • Be able to work collaboratively alongside our Crew to live our mission and values. • Have excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
