What you will do in your working day

That apprentice will shadow an engineering mentor daily and learn a range of new skills and They will be required to

  • Pick parts
  • read assembly drawings
  • assemble parts to drawing.
  • Dismantle gearboxes and rebuild using photographic evidence.
  • Machining of parts when required to achieve endfloats and gear backlash.
  • Accurate measuring of parts and attention to detail is a must within this engineering environment.

The training you will be getting

  • The successful candidate will work towards a Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
  • Individual employers will set the recruitment and selection criteria for their apprenticeships.
  • In order to optimise success, candidates will typically have 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English and a Science.
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
