What you will do in your working day

  • Performing water treatment flushing and cleaning to HVAC systems to BSRIA guidelines, always with a positive outlook and can-do attitude
  • Performing water hygiene tasks incl. tank cleans & inspections, TMV Servicing, Calorifier inspections, Legionella sampling etc.
  • To follow the correct procedures for setting up and flushing closed low and chilled water systems to BSRIA guidelines
  • Understanding L8 water compliance
  • To assist the commissioning teams when required
  • Follow company processes relating to all aspects of your work, showing respect to all staff and colleagues
  • Be willing to participate in any company training days/programs provided to improve development
  • Be prepared to travel and stay away as necessary to complete your work and always look for opportunities to improve standards
  • Report any issues to your project manager/lead engineer
  • To generate water quality logs and summary reports in a timely manner

Things to consider

The positions are not based at our Colchester office but require daily travel to our clients’ sites. You will be paired with a senior engineer and likely travel with them in a company vehicle; occasional travel by public transport may be required. Therefore, the roles are suited to someone who is not only technically minded, but also enjoys variety and flexibility. A full driving licence (or is learning to drive) is desirable but not essential. You will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. We will train you the hands-on skills needed to have a lifetime career. You will need to be personable, have good customer relation skills and be a team player. You must be efficient and organised in your work, be computer literate particularly with Word and Excel , and excellent in English and maths. The role would suit a person willing to gain experience in HVAC engineering, commissioning & water treatment; someone technically minded with a desire to become a fully qualified commissioning/or water treatment engineer. A friendly and flexible outlook with a willingness to go the extra mile for the team and for our customers, these are the key to being successful in this role. You must be able to carry out clear instructions to continually raise the standards of processes within the team. You will be expected to fill out the correct paperwork and help with preparation of test sheets, therefore a great attention to detail is a must, as is a proficiency in the use of computers and standard office packages (Email, Word, Excel, Dropbox). Full support for training and guidance offered. A CSCS skill card will be required – we will assist with applying for the correct card. Essential: Excellent level of English and Maths. Computer literate. Willingness to learn and the get up and go attitude are a key. DBS check (due to works at healthcare settings and schools). Desirable: Basic understanding of M & E services. Site experience and background in engineering.
