What you will do in your working day

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Air, Ocean, Tracson roles:

  • Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
  • Track and Trace Files and reporting
  • Use both export and import dashboards timely
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Ensure delivery of freight and timely clearance when applicable
  • Interact with our customers in arranging their shipments, meeting customer service standards
  • Contribute to maintain good relationships and good customer service, with customers and suppliers
  • Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations
  • Understand department process flow, and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity

Customs Brokerage role:

  • Accurate and timely data entry through Expeditors software
  • Receive & prepare Customs Declarations documents
  • Update clearance status in a timely manner to customers
  • Adherence to procedures and productivity standards and ensure smooth flow of
  • Continuous self-development by attending training classes and accumulate required number of training hours

Personal Development:

  • Meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee
  • Keep on track with all Apprenticeship assignments
  • Attend training classes when required
  • Complete mandatory training when required

The training you will be getting

  • On the job training delivered by the employer
    Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment
  • For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
  • Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
  • Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
    Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
    Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme there are opportunities for continued professional development, advancement to agent role and beyond
