What you will do in your working day

Year 1

  • A full overview of all vehicle systems, including Health and Safety, tools & equipment, inspections, wheels & tyres, braking principles, steering & suspension, engines, electrical principles, air & fuel, cooling & lubrication, and transmission & drivelines

Year 2

  • A deeper, more focused learning of electrical systems, body electrics, transmission and drivelines, and being able to remove & replace components.

Year 3

  • Advanced body & electrical diagnostics, engine diagnostics, chassis diagnostics, transmission diagnostics, vehicle & component inspections, diagnosing & repairing components.

The training you will be getting

  • Working towards Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Standard qualification
  • Colleges in Glasgow or Wolverhampton
  • Fully paid for block release

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Many of our Stagecoach Engineering Directors and Managers began their careers as apprentices - and this could well be your career trajectory in the near future.
  • Attend specialist training courses and progress to become a Master Technician
